02/28: Trent Green
Posted by: Patrick
Alex Marvez talks about the prospect of acquiring Chiefs' QB Trent Green.
The Dolphins would have interest in acquiring Kansas City's Trent Green if placed on the trading block by the Chiefs, a source said at the NFL Scouting Combine.
As of Tuesday, there were no indications Green is currently being dangled as trade bait by Kansas City. But should the Chiefs decide to head in a different direction at quarterback, the source said the Dolphins would entertain the possibility of trying to swing a deal.

From Alex Marvez: The Dolphins are set for some housecleaning before the start of Friday's free-agent signing period, with sources saying Monday that the release of quarterback Joey Harrington and guards Seth McKinney and Bennie Anderson is imminent by week's end.
Defensive end Kevin Carter also will be released Thursday if he cannot reach agreement on a restructured contract, a source said, while the agent for Damion McIntosh said that he expects the team's starting left tackle to test the free-agent market. 02/27: Chambers' a Ginn Fan
Posted by: Patrick
From Sun-Sentinel.com has an article on Chris Chambers connection to Ted Ginn, Jr. "It would mean a lot to add him," Chambers said in a telephone interview. "This guy can stretch the field and make big plays, which would really help us on offense. I would do whatever I can to help out and get him ready to play as soon as possible." ...
Why does Chambers have such a personal interest in Ginn? Besides the boost he would provide a receiving corps in need of more speed, Chambers has known Ginn since the latter was in elementary school. Ginn's father Ted was a mentor to Chambers as one of his high school coaches while he was growing up in the Cleveland area. "Chris is like a big brother throughout my life," Ginn said at the NFL Scouting Combine. "He went to Glenville [High] for a couple years and actually stayed down the street from me for a couple years and spent the night here and there." 02/25: Linehan on Culpepper

From Jeff Darlington:
Does Cameron really believe he's capable of serving as Miami's coach and offensive coordinator at the same time, something that isn't done by any other coach in the NFL? You bet.
''I think without question,'' Cameron said Friday. ... ''I don't think there's any magic in naming an offensive coordinator if the guy is not the play-caller,'' said Cameron, who became known as one of the league's most innovative offensive minds during his time in San Diego. ``I'm going to call the plays with the help of the offensive [staff], just like I've always done.''

Greg Bedard:
Despite slumping last season to a 6-10 record, the Dolphins announced Friday that most season-ticket prices will be higher for the 2007 campaign. Season tickets officially go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Monday. Read the article for more details.

From an interview with Greg Bedard:
Q: How confident are you that Daunte can get back to where he was?
A: I'm very confident. I'm very confident. Daunte is a guy who has had a lot of success in this league. One of the things I was always so impressed with was he had great football character. All the people we know who had him before we got him said that, in terms of his leadership, his work ethic, his competitiveness, all those qualities you want your guys to have, and in particular your quarterback. I know he's working hard to get back physically and to become the player that he's been.

Posted by: Patrick
From Sun-Sentinel.com:
Dolphins coach Cam Cameron moved closer toward finalizing his offensive staff Monday with the hiring of Terry Shea as the team's new quarterbacks coach.

From RotoWire.com reports that the Dolphins have told Cleo Lemon that they will be expecting him to compete for playing time. I guess this was pretty much expected, but may as well make it official.
02/16: Clarence Shelmon
Posted by: Patrick
From Sun-Sentinel.com:
There also is the possibility that Cameron could ultimately hire the coordinator who recently replaced him in San Diego, as Clarence Shelmon's future with the Chargers is uncertain following Monday's firing of head coach Marty Schottenheimer.
Shelmon had served as an NFL running backs coach for 16 seasons, including the past five with San Diego, before being promoted last month to replace Cameron.

Meanwhile, OL Tony Pape has been signed by the Chargers. 02/13: Steve Hoffman Hired

Before working in the NFL, Hoffman was the kicking coach at the University of Miami from 1985-87, where he worked with future NFL punter Jeff Feagles. 02/13: Small Changes to Uniform?
Posted by: Patrick
Armando Salguero:
The Dolphins' uniform is about to undergo a subtle change for 2007, even as the team studies bolder transformation.
The Dolphins are expected to alter the font on their numbers by thinning out the blue outline for the 2007 season.

From Sun-Sentinel.com: Shea was fired last month as Kansas City's quarterbacks coach. He was a head coach at San Jose State (1990-91) and Rutgers (1996-2000) before joining the Chiefs in 2001. Shea, 60, served one season as Chicago's offensive coordinator in 2004 before being fired and returning to the Chiefs. a regular-season game in London later this year. A person familiar with the NFL's decision told The Associated Press on Thursday that the Dolphins will move a home game overseas.
