Culpepper's hearing has been pushed to July 18.

The hearing was postponed because the flight of arbitrator John Feerick from New York was disrupted due to weather. "Every day the hearing is postponed is one he misses from being on the free agent market," said Richard Berthelsen, the legal counsel for the NFLPA, who was in South Florida to argue Culpepper's case.

Trent Green responded to Jason Taylor's comments about his durability in an interview on the Dan Patrick Show.

Have you talked to Jason Taylor about his comments to Sports Illustrated?

Yes I have. He actually called me before, he got an early release, and he called me to speak his mind and let me know where things are coming from on that. Jason understands, I’ve been around long enough to understand, and in magazines things are going to be pulled from a long comment here and a long comment there, pieced in, and we both understand in the game we play, we know there’s a risk of injury on every single snap. I’ve unfortunately learned that a couple of times throughout my career and I would not be putting myself at risk if I did not get 100% clearance from the neurosurgeons and neuropsychologists in Kansas City. I wouldn’t have came back played last year and I wouldn’t be playing this year if I didn’t get 100% assurance that I’m at no greater risk now than when I was going into the Cincinnati game last year when I had never had a concussion. He understands where I’m coming from, I understand where he’s coming from… ...

How did your wife respond to the comments?

She was more upset than I was, so I told her, over the course of an interview that could go a few hours, things are pieced together, you get caught up in the emotion or your adrenaline gets going and you’re talking about a topic…I defended Jason a little bit because this was done before I was traded there, so maybe he felt compelled to defend Daunte or the situation the Dolphins were in, so a lot of different scenarios play into it. You know you get caught in the moment, the adrenaline’s going, you’re in the middle of a different discussion and all of a sudden something comes out and it plays differently in print than maybe the whole thing played out, so I give him the benefit of the doubt.

From Sun-Sentinel.com:

Redmond Charles Burns, 25, pled out to resisting arrest without violence, battery and culpable negligence on May 1 in Broward County Court. According to a State Attorney's Office memo, charges of battery (hate crime) were not pursued in part because Taylor and his wife, Katina, were reluctant to cooperate, fearing publicity and retaliation.

As part of the deal, he'll get a year's probation and a fine.

The AP reports that the Mueller extension is for 2 years. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"I'm excited to be able to continue in my role with an organization that has such a great tradition," Mueller said. "I want to thank (owner Wayne Huizenga) and (president) Bryan Wiedmeier for making this happen, and I feel that with the people we have in place, we have the opportunity to achieve a great deal of success here."

Second-year defensive tackle Fred Evans, who played sparingly as a rookie but is expected to assume a more meaningful role for the Miami Dolphins in 2007, was arrested early Saturday morning, and tasers were used to subdue him, after an alleged argument with a Miami Beach taxi driver.

Cam Cameron issued a statement:

“We are aware Fred Evans was arrested this morning. We will not condone this type of behavior. I assure everyone it will be dealt with seriously.”

Harvey Fialkov has more on Jason Taylor's feature in this week's SI.

According to a story in this week's Sports Illustrated, Dolphins defensive end/LB Jason Taylor almost didn't have the best year of his career in which he was named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year. According to Jason's wife, Katina - sister of teammate Zach Thomas - Taylor was willing to give up football in order to fix their marriage. As the Sun-Sentinel reported last year, Katina filed for divorce twice last year, claiming the marriage was irretrievably broken and asking for primary custody of their three young children. Both times, she pulled the papers back.

Armando Salguero notes that Jason Taylor is featured in this week's Sports Illustrated. Among other things, he talks about the Dolphins QB situation.

Then, a week before the Dolphins completed a June 6th trade with Kansas City for quarterback Trent Green, who missed eight games following a severe concussion last September and turns 37 next month, Taylor tells SI: “This is off-the--record—oh, what the hell, it’s on the record: He’d better not get hit. One big hit, and he could be scrambled eggs.”
