At NFL.com, you can vote for Ted Ginn, Jr. for the Rookie of the Week award. I'm not sure if it's counting votes right now or not as I tried to vote, but it just threw off a JavaScript error.

From Edgar Thompson:

The day after a mistake-filled, 13-10 loss to the New York Giants at London's Wembley Stadium, Cameron was non-committal regarding quarterback.

But Cameron, a first-year coach hired in large part because of his ability to develop quarterbacks, didn't guarantee anything for current starter Cleo Lemon. ...

Whether Lemon - who is 28 but has made only four NFL starts - gets a chance to improve will hinge on when Cameron decides to play Beck.

When we look back at the schedule after the season is over, this is a game that we really could have won. In terrible conditions, Cleo Lemon put in a solid day, completing 17 of 30 for 149 yards and a TD, along with 18 rushing yards on 7 carries. That TD pass came late in the 4th - an awesome strike through 2 defenders to Ted Ginn for the Dolphins' only touchdown. He was under pressure and held onto it just long enough. It was a great play.

Unfortunately, that and a field goal were all the Dolphins could muster. Coming into this game, there were stories about Jay Feely and how the Giants had decided not to bring him back and how he wanted to prove them wrong. Well, unfortunately, he missed his first field goal of the day - a 48 yarder - breaking his consecutive field goals streak. If he had made it, the Dolphins TD in the 4th quarter would have made the game a tie. The conditions were tough and it was early in the game, so there is only so much you can say about it. He made his only other attempt, a 29 yarder.

The Dolphins passing defense looked good as, combined with the conditions, Giants QB Eli Manning threw for only 59 passing yards, completing 8 passes on 22 attempts. Unfortunately, the rushing defense continued to be victimized, allowing 189 yards - 131 of those to Brandon Jacobs.

The Dolphins rushed the ball solidly, gaining 116 yards. Jesse Chatman put in a good day, rushing for 79 yards on 16 carries as well as 3 catches for 21 yards. Justin Peelle was Cleo's favorite target, with 6 catches and 42 yards, including a couple 3rd down grabs. Marty Booker had 3 catches for 31 yards and Derek Hagan had 2 for 27. The 21 yard TD grab was Ginn's only catch of the day. Aaron Halterman had the first reception of his career - a 7 yarder. Congrats to him.

Channing Crowder led the defense with 8 tackles. Matt Roth had 6 tackles and a sack - a big blindside hit on Eli Manning that forced a fumble that Jason Taylor recovered. Cameron Worrell had 6 tackles, Will Allen had 5 and Jason Allen had 5, in addition to a tipped ball interception.

The Dolphins now head to a bye week before playing Buffalo in Miami in week 10.

Armando Salguero and Edgar Thompson report from London where Wayne Huizenga spoke to the press about the team's struggles and what they intend to do about it.

Thompson:

"If you're running a business in my business, publicly held companies, if you don't produce, your ass is out," he told reporters in London. "It's got to stop somewhere. I'll take all the blame."

Salguero:

Huizenga confirmed last week there would be an internal analysis of the team when the Dolphins return to the United States following Sunday's game against the New York Giants. ...

The study could last through the end of the season and help Huizenga, team president Bryan Wiedmeier and Dolphins Enterprises CEO Joe Bailey decide whether to keep the current team structure or make changes that include hiring or firing coaches, scouts, Mueller and Cameron.

But in acknowledging the coming analysis, Huizenga said Cameron and Mueller would be judged only on the decisions they have been responsible for. In other words, decisions made before this past offseason will not be blamed on either man.

Salguero, Sean Fowler and Dave Hyde have analysis.

Jeff Darlington talks about Jason Taylor's presence in London where the NFL has made him a key fixture in their marketing efforts.

''You seeing this?'' Spragan said.

On the outside, defensive end Jason Taylor was posing for a photograph on a police officer's motorcycle, the same one that would be used to escort the bus to the team's hotel in Central London.

A kind gesture by Taylor, of course. But it was also the type of action that awakened many of his teammates just long enough to fire off a few playful shots at the NFL's newest international poster boy.

From the official site:

Schulters said Wednesday that one of the first questions he was asked by the Dolphins when they showed interest in him after losing Hill was whether or not he had a valid passport. He replied positively, but as it turned out, what he did have issues with was not having a proper visa.

So Schulters had to miss Thursday's practice and fly back to Chicago in order to rectify the situation and was not onboard the team charter when it departed for London. He will meet the team overseas.

"He flew to Chicago last night," Cameron said with a chuckle. "It's a visa issue, not a passport issue, so he's going to fly out separately from Chicago."

Updating a previous story, Zach Thomas did not make the trip to London and, as such, will not play on Sunday. This is due to the resulting effects of the car accident that Thomas was involved in last Sunday.

When asked specifically if Thomas has suffered another concussion, Cameron said team doctors and specialists did not put Thomas' injuries "in that category."

"No symptoms [outside of] the whiplash, that's the category it's in." ...

Omar Kelly talked with Brian Morse, the driver of the other car in the accident that Zach and Maritza Thomas were involved in.

"His wife was cut off by another car," Morse said. "She had to stop. I have a Ram 2500 Diesel, a big truck. I just couldn't stop quick enough and had no time or room to avoid hitting their Mercedes." ...

Immediately after the accident, Morse couldn't believe how Thomas reacted.

"His wife was pretty shaken," Morse said. "He made sure that she was OK. Then he jumped in the truck and asked me and my friends if we were OK. He couldn't have been nicer. He had just played in a football game, and he was more concerned with everyone else. He was just a great guy."

Morse had attended the Dolphins/Patriots game.

From Omar Kelly:

The Dolphins' starting middle linebacker and team captain missed practice Wednesday to see a specialist in Pittsburgh, and a source said Thomas was advised to skip Sunday's game against the New York Giants in London after injuries he suffered in a traffic accident Sunday.

Coach Cam Cameron shied away from saying the injury was concussion-related. However, he acknowledged that the injury to Thomas, who leads the team with 52 tackles despite missing two games because of a Sept. 16 concussion, could be serious enough to sideline him again.

After Sunday's loss to New England, Zach Thomas and his wife were in a car accident as was previously reported. At that time, it was said that there were no resulting injuries from the crash. Well, that may not be true, according to sources that spoke to Sun-Sentinel.com. How bad is it? They're saying he may have had another concussion.

Thomas was scheduled to visit with a doctor in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, to undergo testing for another possible concussion. The Dolphins were waiting on results before determining his playing status.

Let's hope that the tests come back clean.

From Sun-Sentinel.com:

The Dolphins added two players Tuesday, re-signing safety Lance Schulters and picking up former Georgia defensive end Quentin Moses. ...

Moses was selected by Oakland with the 65th pick in this year's draft but was released in September. He was signed by Arizona, but the Cardinals cut him on Oct. 16 to make room for quarterback Tim Hasselbeck.

The article also notes that the Dolphins have added former University of Miami TE Buck Ortega to the practice squad. Last season, he was on Cleveland's practice squad, but they released him in August.

Omar Kelly notes that with his interception TD yesterday, Jason Taylor set a new NFL record for touchdowns by a defensive lineman and a new team record for interceptions by a Dolphins defensive lineman. Kim Bokamper was the previous record holder.

"Another one bites the dust," Bokamper joked after the game. "I don't think I have any left unless they count the one for most mental errors."

On a related note, to promote the upcoming Dolphins/Giants game in London next week, the NFL unveiled a 26 foot tall animatronic version of Jason Taylor at London's Trafalgar Square. They call it Big J.T. and apparently it can walk around and everything, traveling at speeds of 4 to 5 miles per hour. I'd actually like to see that thing walking around London. It would probably get some interesting looks from people. Here's a photo gallery.

Ronnie Brown will undergo an MRI today. It's not known how severe the injury is.

Brown said x-rays taken at the stadium during the game were negative, but he left Dolphin Stadium on crutches with his right leg in an air cast.

Alex Carver reports that Brown told Fox Sports' Jay Glazer that he feels he has torn his ACL. If this is the case, he'll most likely miss the rest of the season and it could weaken him in the future. Like a punch to the gut. What else is gonna happen?

Speaking of ACL tears, Reynaldo Hill tore his in yesterday's game and is out for the season. Our secondary just continues to get weaker.

Zach Thomas was in a car accident on the way home from the game. Luckily, there were no injuries for anyone involved.

Though it doesn't have an impact on the rest of our season since he was already out, Trent Green told Jay Glazer that his career is probably over, as he doubts that anyone will clear him to play. If that's the case, it's unfortunate for it to end that way, but he had a very good career and I wish him the best from this point on.

Tom Brady simply picked a part the Dolphins defense today, completing 21 of 25 passes for 354 yards and 6 touchdowns. In all, they had 443 yards of total offense and one turnover (it came late in the game when Matt Cassel came in to relieve Brady and threw a pick to Jason Taylor that he took back 36 yards for a TD). The defensive side was just ugly. One of New England's TDs came on a kickoff return.

Meanwhile, the offensive side wasn't that bad. Especially the running attack - Ronnie Brown had 17 attempts and 76 yards, Jesse Chatman had 7 attempts, 73 yards and a touchdown, Cleo had 3 attempts, 16 yards and a touchdown and Patrick Cobbs had 3 attempts, 14 yards and a touchdown. Total: 30 attempts, 179 yards and 3 touchdowns. Unfortunately, Ronnie got hurt late in the game. He was able to leave under his own power, so hopefully he'll be OK. But, it's just one of those years. Ronnie has been one of the only things we've got going for us and then, he goes down. Great!

Cleo didn't look bad. Taking away from his day were an early fumble and a poor inception in the end zone. Besides that, he was 24 of 37 for 236 yards. He spread the ball around very well: Ronnie Brown had 5 catches for 33 yards, Derek Hagan had 4 for 56, Justin Peelle had 4 for 42, Ginn had 3 for 37, Booker had 3 for 28, David Martin had 3 for 22, Chatman had 1 for 9 and Cobbs had 1 for 9.

Zach Thomas had 8 tackles, Cameron Worrell had 7 tackles, Joey Porter had 4 tackles and a sack and Jason Taylor had that interception.

They got on us early with 42 points in the first half (to our 7) and, while our defense had a better second half, we couldn't make up the huge gap.

Next week, we play
