Dolphins top pick Allen fails to report: Despite team owner H. Wayne Huizenga's offseason warning against any rookie holdouts, Dolphins first-round draft pick Jason Allen didn't report to training camp Friday after contract talks broke down.
Unless a last-minute accord is reached, Allen will miss the first two practices of training camp today and be declared a holdout. Allen's agent Mitch Frankel said Thursday that the impasse concerned the length of the contract. Frankel said he is seeking a five-year contract for the team's projected starting free safety, the 16th overall pick in the draft, while the Dolphins were offering six years.
